Flowers
I wasn’t going to upload this one, but decided to anyway. After all, part of my blog is about sharing my experiences as I learn to paint, and I guess that means sharing both the good and the bad. I’ll start with the good. I like the concept of combining a blurry/blotchy background with a sharp focal point and negative painting. I think it could make for some cool looking paintings.
The bad – the colors look a bit like a clown puked on my painting. haha. Not the best combination in the world. I also really need to work on keeping my brush out of the paint once it is on the paper. I tend to fiddle with it before it dries, which causes lots of blooms and makes everything look overworked. I’m going to try this basic concept again in another painting to see if I can do a better job. I’ll post the results when it is finished.
