Mom and Dad
Tonight I tried doing a pen and wash of my parents from a photo I took last year at the botanical garden near the Ballard Locks. It came out better than I was expecting, but I keep laughing every time I look at it because of my Dad’s freaky mouth and my Mom’s weird, uneven eyes and chipmunk cheeks (in the painting, that is…not in real life! haha)
I was working from a really tiny photograph, so getting accurate details was difficult. Despite the inaccuracies, I really like doing pen and wash paintings and definitely plan to do more in the future…maybe I’ll even do one of my parents where they look a bit less like mutant versions of themselves! 🙂
You are heading in the right direction. Pen witj washes is a great way to journal as perfection is not tha goal
