Four Fantastic Art-Related Twitter Accounts to Follow

Beth

I’m a bit pressed for time today, so this is just going to be a quick post. I thought it would be fun to share a few of my favorite artists and art organizations on Twitter in case you are looking for someone new to follow. I’ll probably do this periodically as I find new accounts that I enjoy. For now, though, here are my tops picks for this round:

@stevebirdartist

stevebirdSteve Bird is a watercolor artist from the UK. I just discovered him earlier this week, and am so glad I did. He recently started a Twitter project called #ipaintyourlife where he does a painting each day based on a photo submitted by one of this followers. He tweets photos of his progress periodically throughout the day, allowing you to watch the painting develop from start to finish. So far it’s been a lot of fun watching the project.

@artistaday

artistadayartistaday is one of the first accounts that I followed on Twitter, and they are by far one of my favorites. Each day they tweet out work from a different featured artist. It is a great way to discover artists that you might otherwise never have known about.

@itweetart

itweeartThis is another account that I have been following since I first joined Twitter. iTweetArt tweets inspirational quotes about art or by famous artists. These little tidbits of wisdom are often the perfect motivation to try something new or to think about art in a different way.

@artsy

artsyArtsy tweets art-related news that is interesting and easily relatable. A lot of other art organizations that I have following in the past are a bit to highbrow/elitist for my taste. Artsy keeps it more down-to-earth, providing stories that can easily be appreciated by art lovers from all walks of life and experience levels.

That’s all for today. I’ll probably do more posts like this in the future as I discover more fun or interesting Twitter accounts. If you have any suggestions for artists or art organizations that are worth following, please feel free to suggest them below. I’m always on the lookout for new people to follow. Thanks! Beth
