02/08/2014 – Soft Colors & Subtle Leaves
I barely had any time to paint today, so this is just a quickie. There are several colors in my paint set that I haven’t used much, so I decided to play around with them just to see how they would blend. I didn’t really have anything in mind that I wanted to paint, so I just did some light negative painting of some leaves.
The “berries” in the middle were going to be a flower, but things didn’t go quite as planned, so they wound up as berries instead. Although this piece isn’t really finished and doesn’t really have much to say, I do like the colors and the overall softness that the negative painting created. It’s a technique that I’ll definitely play around with more in the future.
